Wladyslaw (Wladek) Skorko

Over thirty years' experience in commercial and development financing gained across multiple regions and sectors.

A former senior banker, Wladek is a financial sector, project finance and PPP specialist. His areas of expertise include financing private and public projects in variety of sectors, public-private partnerships, private finance initiative projects and financial sector development. 

Specifically, Wladek managed and led multi-disciplinary teams for international and national development agencies, international financial institutions, international corporations, private investors and banks. His entire consulting career was closely related to transitional/emerging and developing economies.

Wladek worked across the UK, Central and Eastern Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Central and South East Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the US and the Caribbean.

Before joining IMC Worldwide, Wladek was a member of the International Projects Group of BDO, focusing on development consulting and advisory in emerging and developing countries. Prior to this, Wladek was a Deputy Director of the Policies and Economics Dept Bank Handlowy (City Handlowy) in Warsaw, an Executive Director and Member of the Board of BGZ Bank (an apex of Polish cooperative banking) and Special Projects Director/Adviser to President of Raifeissen Investment Poland. He was also a director of the investment and trading house in London and of a corporate/project finance advisory subsidiary of UBS (Switzerland), later in the BRE/Commerzbank AG Group. Among his other roles, Wladek was an adviser to the EU and Canadian rural development funds in Poland, government of Montenegro, banks in Nigeria, Bangladesh, Poland, Ukraine and Romania, project leader on utilities and infrastructure PPPs and private investments across CIS, Middle East and Africa.

The financial system is a bloodstream of the modern world, and the ability to develop and implement financially sound and sustainable projects is key to successful economic and social development.
