Erika Maclaughlin

Principal Consultant, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)

Over 10 years of experience designing and implementing policy, programme and strategy evaluations for bilateral and multilateral agencies.

Erika has over 10 years of experience in designing and implementing evaluations, research and learning frameworks, including the design of data collection tools.

She previously worked with the African Development Bank’s Independent Development Evaluation Group (IDEV) as an evaluation officer, where she was responsible for implementing Country Strategy and Programme, Synthesis and Corporate Evaluations.

Previously, she worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development and the Canadian International Development Agency (now Global Affairs Canada).

Erika’s has diverse evaluation experience across a range of subject matter, including policies, programmes and corporate learning and management systems. This range is complemented by strong cross-sectoral evaluation experience in countries throughout Africa, with experience evaluating power, transport, water supply and sanitation, agriculture and rural development, policy-based operations and private sector projects.

Erika has a Juris Doctor and Graduate Certificates in Applied Statistics and Impact Evaluation, with strong experience applying both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. 

Her thematic interests include Public Investment Management, Public Private Partnerships and the development of institutional evaluation and learning frameworks.
