Tanzania: Isolated Grid Optimisation

IMC is conducting a six-month study to provide services that will contribute to several of Tanzania's Power Africa programme/USAID's business streams.

With funding from USAID, IMC Worldwide, in partnership with Perez, is investigating how strategically-placed solar photovoltaic technology and storage could improve service reliability, reduce technical losses, and cost-effectively serve existing and future load growth in Tanzania.

This contributes to several work streams that are part of USAID-funded Tanzania’s Power Africa programme.

We will focus on isolated grids with the aim of minimising technical and commercial losses, improving power sector planning and promoting investment in power generation. IMC will also conduct the economic, financial, environmental, gender and social assessments.
