In 2006, IMC was appointed as lead consultant for the Canadian Red Cross-funded programme to ‘build back better’, a task that involved appointing and managing consultants for the design and construction supervision of nearly 4,000 reinforced flood- and earthquake-resistance concrete houses and community facilities in just three years.
By its completion in 2009, the project had re-housed more than 11,000 displaced people in safe, high-quality homes.
Our achievements have been recognised by three professional associations, including the Association for Project Management, which presented us with the International Relief and Development Project of the Year award.
