The PPP for School Infrastructure Project (PSIP) set out to address the current classroom backlog of approximately 60,000 classroom as well as the future educational infrastructure requirements in the Philippines. Under PSIP, the Government, through the Department of Education (DepEd), provided the private sector with the opportunity to invest in the design and construction of classrooms using its technology consistent with the Minimum Performance Standards and Specifications set by the DepEd.
IMC Worldwide was selected by to provide transaction advisory services to the DepEd during the second phase of the project, which was carried out to award bidders with the opportunity to the design, finance, and construct 10,679 classrooms (with toilets and furniture) clustered in five contract packages under a PPP framework.
IMC supported provided advisory services during the entire bidding process until the PSIP II contract successfully was awarded.
