Communications Officer | High Volume Transport Programme

We are looking for a an exceptional individual to join one of our flagship applied research programmes.

The Project

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has appointed IMC Worldwide Ltd (IMC) to establish a Programme Management Unit (PMU) with responsibility for the delivery of the High Volume Transport Applied Research Programme (HVT).

This programe aims to optimise the design, operational and maintenance options for high volume road and rail passenger transport in Low Income Countries (LICs) considering strategic road and rail infrastructure links between cities, towns and regionally.

Priority areas of research for HVT include:

  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation recognising that transport is responsible for approximately 25% of greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Inclusion, gender, equity in transport and road safety;
  • Policy and regulation (including engineering);
  • Technology and innovation (including data and decision support systems);
  • Inclusion, gender and road safety; and Fragile and conflict affected states.

 

The Role

We are seeking a Communications Officer in a part-time role to support the Research Uptake and Communications Specialists with implementing programme objectives

The main responsibilities for this position will include;

  • Website and social media management (WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube).
  • Event management, including webinar production and promotion
  • Content production and coordination. 
  • Research communication activities including coordinating with international stakeholders and team members.
