Yasmine Bettine

Regional Assistant, ECAMENA

A recent International Relations graduate with over a year’s experience in international development and international politics.

Yasmine assists the ECAMENA team in the day to day coordination, administration and management of marketing, business development and project implementation in the regions.

Prior to working with IMC, Yasmine worked for the Centre for Development Results for a year where she was Communications Manager. In this role, she successfully led marketing campaigns and assisted the Executive Director with political advocacy on behalf of private sector suppliers with the UK’s Department for International Development.

Yasmine also worked in the Secretariat-General of the European Commission in Brussels, where she coordinated colleagues across the relevant departments in writing the Presidential briefing for the G7 summit in June 2018. It was during this time that she honed her research, writing and political expertise. She also contributed to European Commission policy documents, reports and strategies.

This professional experience has given Yasmine an in depth insight into the political procedures of the UK Government and the European Institutions.

For her undergraduate degree, Yasmine studied Arabic & French at the University of Leeds, with a year abroad in Egypt and a term abroad in France. She then studied Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asian Security Studies at the University of St Andrews where she primarily focused on conflict resolution and peace-building.

She speaks English, Arabic, French (and a little Spanish).
