Suraj Rana

Regional Director, Asia

Over 22 years of professional experience in project management and administration, including procurement and contract management, human resource management, information system networking and corporate planning, budget and financial management, and strategic management.

Suraj joined IMC Worldwide in 1999 as a management consultant and financial analyst on multi-disciplinary capacity-building and institutional reform assignments.

He has risen through the ranks of consultant, Regional Manager, and is now the Regional Director for Asia and is responsible for leading the day to day operations in the region.

Suraj has board level responsibilities for the preparation and delivery of the regional budget, growing the business and reporting on progress and matters arising in the region.

He has over 22 years of professional experience in project management and administration, including procurement and contract management, human resource management, information system networking and corporate planning, budget and financial management, and strategic management of infrastructure projects.

He has carried out and managed consultancy assignments for a range of multinational companies and aid agencies in Asia and the UK.

Some of the major development projects Suraj is currently Project Director for include

  • the DFID-financed Rural Access Programme (£31.5 million) in Nepal and the Accelerating Private and Public Infrastructure and Investment Component of the Accelerating Infrastructure Investment in Nepal programme (£8.5 million)
  • School Construction and Rehabilitation Components for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Education Sector Programme (£184 million) in Pakistan funded by DFID
  • the Fael Khair School cum Cyclone Shelter Programme funded by the Islamic Development Bank in Bangladesh

 

On the large DFID-funded programmes in Nepal and Pakistan, Suraj is responsible for setting up project processes and systems, client care, budget monitoring and management, risk evaluation and management, quality management, project monitoring, knowledge and information dissemination

During 2015, Suraj has been responsible for delivering total revenue of £17.5 million for the company in the Asia region.
