Sajid is Principal Consultant and manager of the Communications & Knowledge Management team at IMC.
He is responsible for communication consulting for our donor-funded projects and also for guiding implementation of the company communication strategy.
His primary interest is helping new programmes and organisations set up communications strategies and use visual storytelling and technology to communicate outcomes of their work.
Sajid began his career eight years ago as a communications officer at a small NGO in Bangladesh, then later provided consulting services as a specialist for other non-profits such as the World Bank, BBC Media Action, UNDP, GIZ, and Handicap International.
In 2012, he established Big Blue Communications, a creative agency that helps non-profit organisations and projects tell stories through strategy, film, design, and publications.
Big Blue’s clients include the Dutch government, UN bodies, GIZ, Helen Keller International, iDE, Handicap International, and the International Centre for Climate Change & Development (ICCCAD).
Sajid is a British-Bangladeshi who believes in the great potential for more frank reporting of development programming that goes beyond production and dissemination towards honest storytelling that ensures meaningful learning and change.
“A great joy of working in this field is seeing how the thoughtful communication of an idea or message or data can really excite people, whether they be colleagues or partners or clients. Seeing that excitement is the main reason I work in communications.”
