Loyd Mawena

Principal Consultant, Economics and Finance

Fifteen years of experience in international development, infrastructure development and finance in developing and frontier markets.

Loyd works with public sector clients supporting ministries and municipalities to strengthen public investment management guidelines, teams and procedures. He also provides economics and finance expertise to a wide range of donor-funded projects from concept to financial close in energy, water, transport and wastewater management sectors.

Loyd has also worked on various public-private partnerships, private sector development, environment and agriculture projects.

Before joining IMC, Loyd worked for the Seoul-based Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). With GGGI, Loyd has been responsible for working on a range of sustainable development initiatives and infrastructure proposals.

These include working with the FONERWA Fund Coordinator to strengthen internal processes towards full independence. He has also been responsible for the development of business cases for a waste to energy project in Senegal, on grid solar PV projects in Indonesia, and green transport concessions in Mexico.

Prior to joining GGGI, Loyd was a financial planning analyst for Kaspersky Lab, where he was responsible for the development of internal financial management processes.  He also spent two years with Abellio London, where he was part of the team that restructured the operation and financing of TfL Bus Service Concession contracts towards profitability.
