Thursday 05 October 2017
During the annual conference of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 1 to 3 October, IMC Managing Director Gavin English was elected to the FIDIC’s executive committee for a term of four years.
English, who was attending the conference as a speaker to share insights on this year’s theme of resilient infrastructure, commented:
I am delighted to be elected to the FIDIC Executive Committee and it is an honour to represent the UK engineering consultancy industry at the highest level. Being selected to serve on the Committee is a proud moment for me and for IMC.
‘As a former chairman of ACE, Gavin is a perfect candidate to represent the interests of the UK consultancy and engineering market on a world stage. Gavin, who chaired the ACE’s international business group for several years and subsequently became ACE national chairman for 2016, has a fantastic track record over 30 years in the international consultancy market and his election is a big vote of confidence in the UK consultancy and engineering sector.’
With member associations in 97 countries, FIDIC is the recognised global voice for the consulting engineering industry and the international authority on issues relating to consulting engineering best practice. It also promotes high standards of ethics and integrity among all stakeholders involved in the development of infrastructure worldwide.
More and more climate finance is spent on helping populations to cope with the consequences of global warming. Consequently, monitoring and evaluating the impact of these funds is crucial. It is also complex. Why is that so?
