Team Leader – Nepal, Accelerating Public and Private Investment in Infrastructure (APPIIC)

IMC Worldwide is seeking to recruit a reputable Team Leader for the Accelerating Public and Private Investment in Infrastructure Programme (APPIIC) in Nepal, which is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

About the programme

APPIIC is Lot 1 of the UK aid funded “Accelerating Investment and Infrastructure in Nepal” (AiiN) programme which is designed to address key cross-sectoral constraints, opportunities and risks to transformational growth in Nepal. IMC is managing the infrastructure component – APPIIC – that provides technical assistance to various Government of Nepal agencies to address the constraint of weak energy and transport infrastructure.

The key output of the programme is increased investment in large scale, growth enhancing infrastructure that can both accelerate economic growth and expand job opportunities.

The programme started in December 2015 and will finish in March 2021. IMC is looking for a Team Leader available to start as soon as possible, to provide full-time inputs for the remainder of the project.

About the role

Based full time in Kathmandu, and reporting to the Project Director, the Team Leader will be responsible for successful delivery of the programme, including:

  • Providing strategic, policy and technical guidance to the project.
  • Ensuring high quality and consistent delivery of all programme activities.
  • Monitoring progress; ensuring that milestones, outputs and outcomes are met.
  • Managing a team of full-time consultants and short term consultants.
  • Influencing and communicating with senior government and private sector leaders for successful project delivery.
  • Stakeholder management, engagement with Government and other donors.


  • An advanced University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of large, complex development projects (preferably for DFID).
  • Solid international experience in the infrastructure development sector.
  • Ability to foster successful partnership approaches and relationships among a range of stakeholders, including governmental departments, programme partners, donors, private sector organisations and NGOs.
  • Excellent communication skills including good presentation, facilitation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
